One week.
A world of possibilities.

A week-long experience designed to give you an insight into a range of different and exciting professions — and the confidence to pursue them.
"You cannot be what you cannot see."
Some careers are easy to picture. Others feel like they belong to someone else. Through the Looking Glass exists to close that gap. Since 2012 we have brought talented A-Level students from schools across London inside the offices, chambers, studios and boardrooms of the City and beyond – from law firms and banks to global retail and beauty brands – to meet the people who work there and ask them the things a prospectus will never tell you.

Through the Looking Glass is a week-long experience designed to give you an insight into a range of different and exciting professions. You will meet inspiring people from leading organisations across the City and beyond who will share their insight and experience to encourage you to find the right career for you.
The week includes workshops and interactive sessions on the skills that matter early on – presenting, negotiating, interview technique and CV building – as well as a look at how organisations work from the inside: how they are managed, how the different teams fit together and the skills and personality each role calls for. We do this because we believe in humanity, diversity and meritocracy, because we remember what a single open door can do and because you cannot be what you cannot see.

Previous programmes have also included cultural tours of the City of London and the Houses of Parliament, along with visits to the Royal Courts of Justice and the Inns of Court, which are always very popular with our students.

Students leave with practical skills, live experience of the working world, a network of real contacts and something harder to measure: the confidence that these rooms are open to them too. Our alumni have gone on to build phenomenal careers in law, accounting, finance, technology and business – and some have built companies of their own.
