I took part in the Through the Looking Glass programme in October 2012. The programme gave me my earliest exposure to the legal profession, visiting law firms and meeting lawyers at a time when a career in commercial law felt quite distant.
Since graduating from university in 2017, I took a slightly unconventional route into commercial law, having worked at three start-ups in the legal technology sector and within the legal tech team of an international law firm, before starting my training contract. I qualified as a solicitor in September 2026, working in the project finance team.
Looking back, Through the Looking Glass had an impact far beyond the programme itself. It encouraged me to aim higher, introduced me to a profession I have built my career in, and gave me confidence at a formative point in my life. More than a decade later, I remain incredibly grateful to Lesley and the team for the part they played in getting me to where I am today.
